Why we built this

GPA is not calculated the same way everywhere. Even two universities in the same country can use different grade points, credit weighting, rounding rules, pass/fail handling, and CGPA formulas. Most calculators ignore this and apply one generic formula, which quietly produces the wrong number for most students.

GPAWorld takes the opposite approach: every university has its own independent grading configuration, and the calculator only ever uses the rules of the university you select.

How it works

Each supported university has a dedicated, reviewable configuration describing its exact grade scale, points, credit rules, rounding, and CGPA formula. A single calculation engine reads that configuration — so the same grades do not always produce the same GPA unless the universities genuinely use the same rules.

Every configuration links to the official university grading policy it is based on, so every number is traceable and auditable.

A note on accuracy

We work hard to keep every grading configuration correct and up-to-date, but universities change their policies and details can vary by program or intake year. GPAWorld is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any university. Always confirm your official GPA with your university registrar.
