Kyoto GPA converts registered-course grades to grade points, multiplies by credits, sums the products, and divides by total registered credits included by the student's faculty. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with standard rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with standard rounding to 2 decimal places.
Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the Kyoto University config: supported pass grades are excluded from GPA points. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: Kyoto University's public GPA page defines grades, grade points, formula, rounding, and withdrawal handling, but a general repeated-course replacement rule was not clear.
