CityU GPA adds quality points, grade points multiplied by credit units, and divides by total credit units; digits after the second decimal are truncated. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with floor rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with floor rounding to 2 decimal places.
Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the City University of Hong Kong config: supported pass grades are excluded from GPA points. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: CityU states only the latest attempt is included in CGPA for course repeats.
