How the formula works

EUR Osiris can show a weighted average grade for completed courses and reports ECTS credits; the ECTS grading table counts valid passing and compensated results where credits have been obtained. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with standard rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with standard rounding to 2 decimal places.

Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the Erasmus University Rotterdam config: supported pass grades are excluded from GPA points. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: EUR compensation, resit, invalid result, exemption, and programme CER rules are conditional, so repeated-course handling is manual review.

Worked example

Suppose a student starts with 3.00 CGPA after 30 completed credits and takes these Erasmus University Rotterdam courses:

Course 13 credits x 5.5 (5.50 points)
Course 23 credits x 5.8 (5.80 points)
Course 33 credits x 6.1 (6.10 points)
