KAIST GPA uses official grade points and excludes research and S/U course credits from grade-average calculation. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with standard rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with standard rounding to 2 decimal places.
Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the KAIST config: supported pass grades are excluded from GPA points. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: KAIST official sources define grade points and S/U exclusions; only W-retake deletion was clear publicly, so general course-retake GPA handling is manual review.
