POSTECH publishes a 4.3 grade-point scale; GPA calculation is represented as credit-weighted quality points for graded credits. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with standard rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with standard rounding to 2 decimal places.
Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the POSTECH config: supported pass grades are excluded from GPA points. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: POSTECH's official international page defines the grading scale and S/U, W, I, and SA symbols, but a general repeated-course replacement rule was not clear.
