UC GPA multiplies each course grade value by course credits, sums those values, and divides by total course credits. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with standard rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with standard rounding to 2 decimal places.
Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the University of Canterbury config: supported pass grades are excluded from GPA points. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: UC states students may repeat a restricted-pass course, but a universal GPA replacement rule for all repeats was not clear in public official sources.
