This config uses Waikato's official grade GPA values with credit weighting by paper points; the public source identifies paper points as the credit value used toward degrees. For semester GPA, each GPA-counted course is converted to quality points by multiplying grade points by credits. The semester GPA is the total quality points divided by total GPA-counted credits, then rounded with standard rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated CGPA combines the student's existing quality points with this semester's quality points, then rounds with standard rounding to 2 decimal places.
Pass/fail and non-GPA grades are handled from the University of Waikato config: pass/fail handling is included only when the university data marks it as GPA-counted. Repeat-course handling uses this rule: Waikato publishes the official grade-to-GPA table, but a universal public repeated-paper replacement rule was not clear.
